Starting a fitness journey is exciting; after all, by investing in your physical well-being, you’ll be giving yourself much energy, improving your mood, and, of course, helping to push yourself towards your ideal physique. But of course, simply going to a gym doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll reach your fitness goals. It takes knowledge, work, and discipline to reach your desired physical state, and all too often, people make mistakes that make achieving their goals much more challenging.  If you haven’t (yet) reached your fitness goals and you’re not sure why, then it might be because of one or more of the following reasons.  Pexels – CC0 Licence You Don’t Know What They Are First of all, remember that you can’t reach your fitness goals if you don’t know what they are! Everyone has different objectives, so it’s important to clarify what yours are before you begin your exercise journey. In doing so, you’ll give yourself something to work towards — which is fantastic for keeping your motivation levels high — and you’ll also know when you’re on the right track; it can be pretty galvanizing to see that you’re making progress! You’re Not Exercising Enough As we said above, simply going to a gym doesn’t count for much. It’s what you do while you’re there that counts. You might spend two hours in a gym, but if you’re spending most of your time on your phone, then you can’t be surprised if you’re not making progress!  Changing your body for the better takes effort, so look at committing to going to the gym consistently. It’s better to go for 45 minutes, three times a week, rather than for two hours once a week. And remember — you’re at the gym to work, not stare into space! You Expect The Gym To Do Everything The gym will be your best friend on your journey towards reaching your ideal physical condition, but remember that it can’t do everything. What you do outside of the gym is just as important. Some people have stubborn fat pockets that the gym can’t get rid of. In that instance, lipo lab treatment can help supplement your exercise regime. On the other hand, if you’re trying to build muscle, then your diet will be fundamental in helping you to achieve your goals — remember: your gym results are 50% what you do in the gym, 50% what you do outside of the gym.  You’re Doing the Wrong Exercises Returning home from the gym with a lot of sweat and tiredness, yet still not seeing results? Then it might be that you’re doing the wrong exercises for your goal, or you’re doing the right exercises, just performing them incorrectly. Working with a personal trainer can help to put you on the right track. It’s Too Early  Finally, you might not have reached your fitness goals simply because it’s too early. You’ll need at least a month before you begin noticing progress. The best approach is to simply forget about the outcome and focus on the process. You’ll get there eventually!
